[medium_title title=”NEW for 2015- we’ve moved the volume pot an additional ¼” away from the selector switch for easier access!”]
Wish your Tele pickup switch wasn’t quite so flat? Our Telecaster control plate custom angles your 3 or 4-way switch into a more ergonomic position.
We make these lightweight Tele control plates out of .062″ 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum in house, right here in the USA, for our line of guitars and are pleased to also offer them separately. I’ve shown this against a Dead Black Nitro color-sample body, loaded with a 4-way Oak Grigsby switch and vintage-type pots, none of which are included. What you do get is one plate and two slotted-head stainless steel mounting screws, plus all the mojo that you believe in.
Our Telecaster Control Plate Custom Angled are also available left-handed and in Titanium! Don’t want the hole drilled for the tone pot? We do that, too.
The switch slot is angled as much as possible and accommodates a CTS 3-way or an Oak Grigsby 4-way switch, as you can see in the picture. But with the tighter area near the end of the cavity route, a 5-way Fender Super Switch will NOT work with these; check out our specially designed 5-way control plate for that option.
We’re learning that SOME newer American Tele’s, mostly with S-1 switching knobs, have a ‘hump’ in the bottom of the control route. This makes it difficult to either reverse the plate or to move the volume pot back the extra 1/4″. If your Telecaster has this issue, please let us know and we’ll put the volume pot back into the forward spot for you!
